There’s plenty of history in Kassiopi, with the remains of a Byzantine castle perched up on the hillside, and around the headland, built to protect the town and its port. The church of Panagia Kassiopitra is also well worth a visit, it’s believed to have been built on the site of an ancient temple dedicated to Zeus Kassius.
