Laganas, once an old fishing village, is now a vibrant beach resort on the Greek island of Zakynthos. Laganas beach faces the calm, shallow waters of Laganas Bay and by night the town comes alive offering an Ibiza style nightlife along with a family friendly atmosphere. Stretching all the way from the quieter Kalamaki Beach in the east to Agios Sostis in the west, Laganas Beach is one of Zakynthos’s loveliest stretches of sand. There’s a wooden footbridge at one end crossing the sea which connects nearby Sostis village to Cameo Island, which also has a small beach. Laganas beach is also home to the endangered nesting sea turtles, which you may be able to spot when they head up the beach to bury their eggs.
