All our villas in Arta have been handpicked by our experienced team using our expert insight into what makes the perfect family villa holiday.
There are some lovely artisan shops selling traditional ceramics and textiles, along with ‘llatra’, traditional products like baskets and bags made by braiding palm leaves together. To the north of Arta lies the Llevant Natural Park, a wild, hilly area with a dramatic coastline. Inside stands the Ermita de Betlem, founded by monks in 1805, complete with a solar clock, a rose window and an ancient water mill. It is a steep climb to reach the chapel but you are rewarded with stunning views. This landmark is particularly popular with cyclists and hikers. The Caves d’ Arta are one of the biggest tourist attractions on the north eastern coastline. These ancient caves are a spectacular sight with various natural rooms created and adorned with countless stalactites and stalagmites.
All of our villas come equipped with their own private pools, so you also have the option of simply relaxing at your holiday home and enjoying the warm weather.
Having stayed relatively untouched by tourism, Arta is a great villa holiday destination to enable you to discover the authentic rural Mallorca. Culture lovers will be drawn to this area for its historic landmarks, particularly the Bronze Age Talayotic settlement of Ses Païsses, the legendary Caves d'Arta and the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador. Arta’s fortress was built during the Muslim reign, its walls still surround the 16th Century pilgrimage church of Sant Salvador, a Gothic-style church which replaced the ancient parish church. Sant Salvador is today one of Artà’s most iconic landmarks, it stands at the top of a hill overlooking the town with amazing panoramic views across Mallorca’s landscape all the way to the coast.
Although the town of Arta is inland, there are unspoilt and beautiful sandy beaches just a short drive away, perfect for a family day out. Just a few kilometres away Cala Mesquida beach is set in an open bay, a picturesque sandy beach that is 350-metres in length and backed by sand dunes which stretch far inland. This beach has sun-loungers and umbrellas to hire, along with a restaurant and a couple of beach bars for refreshments. When the conditions are right this is a popular beach for windsurfing. There is a good selection of restaurants in Arta, from a high-end gourmet experience restaurant set within a luxury palace turned hotel to more authentic restaurants. Our family villas are well located to explore Arta and the surrounding villages and beaches.
If you want a more active villa holiday, maybe with a group of friends, head to Llevant Natural Park and its 1671 hectares of protected parkland and Mallorca’s second largest mountain range. It has all the ingredients for a great day out exploring whilst enjoying some spectacular scenery. There are plenty of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and cyclists to explore, and is a popular destination for bird watching. Golfers are well catered for in Mallorca with Capdepera Golf and Club de Golf Son Servera within easy reach of the town. Capdepera Golf is an 18-hole course surrounded by mountains, suitable for both beginners and more advanced players. Club de Golf Son Servera is the second oldest club on the island. A beautiful, challenging course of 18 holes with splendid views over the bay of Cala Millor.
