Spend the day wandering around the town, relax by your villa’s private pool and then perhaps join an amazing evening sunset cruise around Delos and the coast of Rhenia. Take in the most famous ruins of the sacred island such as the theatre, the old harbour, the ancient houses, which are half sunk by the rocky coast, and the buildings of the old city. Head past the little islands ‘Ano and Kato Rematiaris’ towards the South to the uninhabited islands ‘Prassonissia’ where you can enjoy the romantic magic light of the sun setting over Delos. A tour will take you to the Temples of Apollo, the sanctuary of Artemis, and the Avenue of Lions. Delos is located just 6 miles from Mykonos, roughly a 30 minute journey by boat.
The sheltered bay and shallow, calm waters of Ornos beach are ideal for younger kids and families. Alternative family activities include a visit to an Animal Organic Farm, the perfect interactive activity to discover Mykonos village life and traditional farming methods. You and the kids will get to meet the livestock and explore what it is like to be a farmer on a small Greek island. It may even be possible to harvest some vegetables or crops. Little Venice is popular for families, located on the western part of Mykonos Town, it’s a row of buildings that have been constructed right on the sea’s edge. The kids will love to hear that Little Venice was a great spot for the loading and unloading of goods by pirates during the 16th and 17th Centuries.
