Frequently asked questions about Turkey

How long does it take to fly to Turkey?

Travellers from the UK can reach Turkey in around four hours, reaching Ismir in three-and-a-half hours and Bodrum in just over four hours. Flights run all year round, so it’s possible to rent a villa in the winter or autumn, with more flights available during the summer. Bodrum, Antalya and Ismir, near our coastal villas, have busy international airports, and there are a handful of smaller, domestic airports for those connecting from Istanbul.

It’s also possible to reach Turkey, and ports like Bodrum, from the Greek islands by ferry, with ferries running between Kos and Bodrum and Rhodes and Marmaris.

What currency do I need to take to Turkey?

The local currency in Turkey is the Turkish lira, however, you’ll find many shops, restaurants and venues at tourist destinations accepting Euros.

What is the time difference between the UK and Turkey?

Turkey is 3 hour ahead of United Kingdom

When is the best time to go to Turkey?

It’s best to visit Turkey in between April and October, where temperatures are consistently high and between 20 and 30°c. During the summer months, June through to September, temperatures soar and can reach 30°c – so if you’re planning to visit in peak summer it’s worth getting one of our Turkey villas with a private pool or a villa located near the beach.

For those looking to enjoy more active, outdoorsy activities, such as exploring ancient ruins and enjoying water sports, it may be better to visit outside of July and August. Outside of the warmer months, Turkey has pleasant temperatures which are warmer than in the UK, so even a trip in November will offer some sunshine. We have a range of winter sun villas which provide warmer temperatures all year round.
